Thanks for visiting the blog of wedding photojournalist Danielle Richards. Here you'll find some favorite wedding images, tips, and commentary on anything having to do with celebrating love. Tossed in the mix are some of my adventures and observations along the journey. Enjoy!
President Obama’s historic announcement this week regarding Marriage Equality was enlightening and particularly welcome, coming on the heels of the disheartening news of North Carolina’s endorsement of Amendment One. In light of the President’s “evolving attitude” on gay marriage, I wanted to recognize a few of my LGBT clients who are pledging their commitment to each other and tying the knot this year. Congratulations to Matt & Leo, Judy & Jodi, Karen & Cindy, and Joy & Rachel. Here are some of my favorite images from their engagement sessions.
Karina & Derek’s wedding at the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, NJ, was the perfect way to start off the wedding season! The weather was fantastic for early March, Raul of Ultrafonk Entertainment had everyone dancing the Salsa, and I couldn’t ask for a nicer couple to work with. Congratulations and I’m looking forward to working on the album with you!
Hoboken, NJ Engagement portrait session by New Jersey wedding photographer Danielle Richards.
I had the pleasure of photographing Jay and Victoria at the historic Hoboken Terminal for their engagement portraits. They are a delight to work with, and I’m really looking forward to their wedding in 2012! Hoboken is such a cool place (except for the parking) but I have more and more couples request their portraits there. It’s always a challenge to find new and interesting spaces to work in, especially when the area is very familiar. It seems that each time I work there, I see something different so it remains one of my favorite locales. The terminal waiting room reminds me of a movie set with the beautiful stained glass ceiling and period lighting fixtures, and the neighboring streets are always full of surprises.
Love these images! They really remind me of all the times I have visited up north. You’ve done a great job capturing the ‘feel’ of the day you spent with them and they both look very relaxed and happy!
Here are just a few of my favorite images from Claire & David’s wedding. The reception, at The Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank, New Jersey, was the perfect setting on a perfect day. The patio, overlooking the Navesink River, provided a gorgeous backdrop for formals and cocktails, while the reception was rocked by The Amish Outlaws. All in all, one of the best weddings this year!
